2nd November 2010 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: 25-30 knots Surf / Sea State: 3-4 foot rough surf Air Temperature: 13ºC Sea Temperature: 13ºC Weather: Drizzle Max Speed: Distance Covered: Another lovely session. Started off with the 5m and my Naish Hybrid Freewave board. Blaschito and Spooker were out kiting but left as the wind picked up and the rain set in. My kit felt fine and I was well powered up the whole time. lots of nice jumps and some decent wave-rides, but felt a little over-powered on the gybes out the back. A student from the uni was out with a 6.6m but couldn't really hang on. I decided that I could probably get away with my 4.5m sail so as Dave and Sarah were rigging on the pebbles I changed down and went back out with that. The 4.5m was perfect and once again I was flying along and powering into some big jumps. Gybes out the back were better and I was having a great sail. with small kit just the way it should be. The waves picked up as the day went on and it got quite big out the back but as I was well-powered it felt fine all the time and I didn't take too many big rinsings. |
